The Challenge
MJ Takisaki, Inc. (MJT), a construction company with offices in Spokane and Seattle, was experiencing frequent downtime and unreliable access to critical files.
After a previous break/fix IT provider left the company without adequate support, MJT attempted to build its own enterprise file-sharing system. Backups relied on files syncing from a Windows desktop located in the copier room, and the cybersecurity software recommended by the previous provider was simply the unpaid version of Malwarebytes.
As frustration increased, employees began finding their own ways to store and access files. Information became scattered across different systems, creating problems with file access, reliability, and business continuity.
The Solution
BCA first focused on getting MJT operational again. The team worked with the company’s existing infrastructure and had employees back up and running the same day, which was especially important because MJT needed to meet active construction bid deadlines.
Over the following two months, BCA helped MJT transition to a more secure and reliable IT environment.
The company was migrated to Microsoft’s cloud platform using Azure and Microsoft 365 SharePoint, giving employees a centralized system for storing and accessing files. BCA also configured secure remote access so employees could work from outside the office.
BCA worked directly with MJT’s Spokane and Seattle offices, as well as field staff, to establish consistent file-sharing access across the organization.
MJT was also moved onto BCA’s No Tier Helpdesk model, giving employees direct access to experienced support staff without unnecessary escalation steps.
To strengthen cybersecurity, BCA implemented its FutureShield cybersecurity suite, including Compliance Shield, to help reduce the risk of future security incidents and support MJT’s CMMC Level 2 requirements.
The Results
MJ Takisaki has relied on BCA for IT support since 2016.
With more reliable infrastructure, centralized file access, stronger cybersecurity, and ongoing technical support, employees can spend less time dealing with IT problems and more time focusing on construction projects and bids.
“I have never been able to get bids out quicker than I can now. I have all my data in one place and it's up to date. I don't have to ask Brian U. where anything is anymore. I know my million-dollar+ bids are in good hands with BCA around.”
