The Challenge
Toby’s Battery & Auto Electric (TBA), an auto electric company with multiple locations in Spokane, was dealing with repeated outages caused by an underpowered point-of-sale server installed by its previous IT provider.
The system was going down every few hours, creating lost time for employees and making it difficult to reliably access the company’s POS system.
TBA also needed dependable POS access across all three Spokane locations, which required a more stable network and centralized approach.
The Solution
BCA provided TBA with a quote the same day and migrated the company to a new host by the following week. During that same timeframe, BCA set up high-uptime access so all three stores could connect to the central location’s POS server.
BCA also built a more reliable network backbone connecting all locations for faster and more consistent POS access.
To help maintain PCI compliance as Windows 10 reached retirement, BCA provided refurbished hardware and implemented additional IT and security best practices. The goal was not only to support compliance, but also to keep Toby’s data secure and accessible.
TBA was also backed by BCA’s No Tier Helpdesk, giving employees direct access to experienced support staff without unnecessary escalation steps.
BCA and TBA are also working on a longer-term cloud strategy that would allow the company to take advantage of modern tools and POS SaaS platforms.
The Results
TBA moved from dealing with recurring POS outages to having a more stable IT environment connecting its multiple Spokane locations.
The company gained more reliable access to its POS system, a stronger network backbone, updated hardware, improved security practices, and ongoing IT support.
As Jason Holdren, owner of Toby’s Battery, explained:
“Great services. Josh & his team are always there when we need them. If it wasn't for BCA, we would have continued to lose precious time messing with our outdated PC trying to access our server.”
